Miroslav Lajčák Visits Banská Štiavnica and Detva

Today (October 11, 2019), Miroslav Lajčák, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic arrived in the Banská Bystrica region. His first stop was the Andrej Kmeť Secondary Grammar School in Banská Štiavnica, which, on that day, celebrated the 100th anniversary of its founding. Miroslav Lajčák is himself a graduate of the school.

Talks on Transdniestrian Settlement Process Ended in Bratislava

At the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, the two-day negotiations on the Transdnestrian settlement process in the so-called 5+2 format ended today (October 10, 2019). The hosts of the meeting were Miroslav Lajčák, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and Chairperson-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and Franco Frattini, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for Transdniestria. The talks in Bratislava engaged all the Sides in the conflict – the Republic of Moldova and Transdniestria, the mediators – the representatives of the Russian Federation, Ukraine the OSCE, and the observers from the European Union and the United States.

State Secretary Ružička at #MYSMEEÚ at the Economic University

On October 9, 2019, the 10th event of the series of the National Convent on the European Union #MYSMEEÚ took place at the Economic University in Bratislava. The opening remarks were delivered by Rudolf Kucharčík, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, František Ružička, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Ana Paula Zacarias, State Secretary for European Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Portugal and Hans Dahlgren, Minister for EU Affairs in the Cabinet of the Prime Minister of Sweden. Together with the moderator of the event, Braňo Závodský, they discussed the challenges that the European Union has been facing.
